GRRRROWL

Spent most of the evening on the main house PC battling some kind of DCOM problem - possibly a trojan or malware. It took most of the evening to get a good boot-up, so I could attach the 1/2 terabyte external I bought for backups and get a more recent dump of photos and other precious items. Next I have to see if repairs are possible or if it will require a reload...

So no time for other frivolity tonight. Before it happened I cut the boys' hair, and I started the last work on the taxes. Some fun night, mm-hmm.

Going to bed now while the PC does a Spy-bot sweep (first of several tools I will use). It's already found a win32 malware item (win32 was involved in the boot failures) - could be the culprit, could be just the tip of the iceberg.

i'm so sorry to read all these problems you are having...knowing next to nothing about the tech side of computers, I don't really understand what the problems are but I hope you get to the bottom of them by tomorrow...I imagine it's very frustrating, to say the least...

last night, with my migraine, I didn't comment on the post about the tablecloth and the light of spring but I also love them and would love to have more than the couple I have that were given me by my son...they are gorgeous and so COLORFUL! personally hate daylight savings but that's another story...

well, blessings you get to the bottom of all this soon, like in the morning without losing anything you don't want to lose.

How frustrating. I would be breaking things and cursing. I hope you can get it sorted out soon so you can get back to your art.

YUCK! I hope all is well. I had that happen to me sort of a few months ago, and I had to reformat. My PC was not happy, and nothing was working properly. It kept going into the blue screen of death.

Then, when I was in the process of reformatting, I discovered my system did not like Windows SP3. It started doing the same things after reformat, but when I deleted it, it was fine.

After four or five hours of work and research, all is well again.

For now... Until they make this illegal (it is NOT at present) it will continue to be a problem, wasting time and losing data for people all over the world. Disgusting.

Ugh, glad you were able to solve the problem! My computer has been misbehaving for over a month now, and I'm pretty close to chucking it out the studio window...
