End of January - Last Two Weeks

There have been some good moments, and a few exceptional days and evenings in the last two weeks, but with the gloom, the excessive travel, the extraverted demands, the news, and the stress...

...this is what I have to say about the back half of January '09.

My older two are telling me that this is the best likeness I've done so far in my self portraits. What do you suppose that means?

Hat tip to MathMan for some inspiration on this pose.

I'm not sure it's the best likeness of yourself that you've posted, but it certainly does capture your essence. :D

well, it's not such a good likeness but I am thinking it captures the mood quite well! :) I am happy to see you once again here on your little world of CST. Hoping you have painting time soon too...

I thought at first that this was taken in a mall photo booth.

LMAO! Okay Mister! You made me chortle my coffee! Love the self-portrait!

I hope your wife's knee is feeling better, and things get on a nice smooth even keel. :)

Thank you for your supportive and helpful comments on my doodling :) I appreciate more than I can say. :)

January has been pretty crappy. You are not alone in your assessment.

Your self portrait is spectacular!

Alex - Well there IS that big nose distortion thing you get with holding a camera up yourself. Or maybe my nose really IS that big, but I prefer not to think so...

June - Actually, almost never. But it seemed just the thing this week.

Linda - After tonight's life drawing session I feel relaxed enough to paint - but there isn't much time tonight. Tomorrow...

Corryna - Thanks, and glad it made you laugh.

Summer - See, Alex, I told you it looks just like me... Asymmetrically gray beard and all.

Genie Sea - Glad you laughed (sorry about the coffee). Dearest's knee is doing better. And the encouraging comments are easy - your work inspires them naturally.

Lisa - Beautiful new photo you're using for an avatar. And the MathMan photo really did inspire this portrait.

Leah - Thanks for the compliment, and let's hope February is better.

Originalbliss - Same as Leah - let's hope for a MUCH better February. More sun!!! Today was finally a sunny day, and MAN did it make me feel better.

I think it is a stunning likeness, and, in my opinion, an astute observation of not only the last two weeks of January, but the former two and all of February and March as well.

OKJimm - not much into winter, eh? Here we are not supposed to have this kind of winter - we moved here in part to get away from it - put up with the humid hot southern summers and then get this???
