AEDM 31 - Oops, Guess Not - WC (cont) and Glee 1 (cont)

Here's the progress on Glee 1. That object to the right is an eraser (I used it a lot) - it's about the size of a Kennedy half dollar.

I had to do a lot of review of houses and palaces to get the styles for this. I can hardly wait to start painting after so much drawing. I had mentioned in a comment, I think on Jul's blog (she paints Munich, among other things) that I hadn't tried painting architecture. But since I already knew for months that this was where Glee 1 was going, I should have remembered that I had architecture coming.

Family reactions to Glee 1 so far are mixed - some just think it's weird... Hopefully it will make more sense when the paint goes on.

And here is the watercolor thing I've been playing with for three days now. I provide it turned all four ways, so you can see it all the ways I do, while I'm painting it. Click on them for considerably larger versions, if you want to look for things and tell me what you see. Who knows, it may even be what it ultimately turns into. But I seldom know what my inner artist (my muse?) is going to do.

I like the fourth one best, so far (where the red and orange are mostly in lower left and in the upper left). Still not sure where this is going, if anywhere - but I have begun to know with more certainty where I want certain colors. At the beginning there was little reason to put any particular color anywhere. That was odd for me.

I think I like the fourth view the best, as well. It conjures up images of carnival parade floats for me. I love the colors and energy.

Good luck for your foray into architecture!

I can't wait to see how Glee looks with paint! I love architecture so this one is really appealing to me.

Regarding Glee I - I really like the buildings but I'm not sure how I feel about them sitting on the men's heads. But of course, I don't know the origin of the thoughts that led to the sketch. :-)

Oh, never mind the view - I like the colors however they're turned. So jubilant! all my water colors turn to mud (because I just....can't....leave....them....alone!) and Glee! is WONDERFUL!!!! I can't wait to see it finished! 1 last thing - do you have a subscription block somewhere on your blog that I have overlooked?

Jul - Thanks! And I really do wonder how I will paint these buildings... I'm cautious and ready to dive in, all at once.

DCup - I can't wait either - but I have a business trip to SC tomorrow and Wed, so we may have to wait a while...

Pagan - My dearest felt the same way. Actually she saw the buildings on the heads and said, "That's just weird!" LOL - that's part of the fun.

Tammy Vitale - I'm glad you like it! And I just added that subscription block last night - timing is everything!
