>>>> Appendix de Grenouille <<<<
Etienne and I had the pleasure of seeing our words in print at Thanksgiving. The sister of his cheri gave him a bound volume of les Appendecis de Grenouille. Voila, there it was in a package, a surprise and a pleasure. Tres enchantes! We were moved.
It is a publication of one, and that makes it the more rare and special.
So now we join the prestigious rank of published auteurs and Philosophes over the ages, Pascal, Descartes, Aristotle, Plato. This petite libre places us in an excellent company. Perhaps we will try harder to be worthy.
Or perhaps non.
Au revoir,
Grenouille

Congratulations to you both! What a lovely and thoughtful gift!
DCup - yeah, we were really surprised and touched. We never expected it at all.
Wonderful and thoughtful gift. Thanks for sharing it with us.
The little frog is quite something.
Pagan - And who knew, when I picked Grenouille out from all the thousands of possible souvenirs in Provence, that he would end up a published author?
It really was one of the most surprising and delightfully thoughtful gifts I've ever received. It's great fun to find out someone has been reading - even more fun to find they spent all that time creating something further from it. It makes me feel more visible, somehow, in a satisfying way.
A gift most thoughtful and most gratifying because of the very thought behind it. As the recipient of such, your question of worthiness has been answered.
As for trying to be more worthy, I can only offer this: Strive not to live up to the past nor to predict the future. Accept the moment and your place in it and you will be the standard by which others measure their own worth.
Alex - Ooooooo - well put. And I've learned much better to NOT look back. FORWARD! I've got really tall heads to paint...
