Mountain Vacation - Small Painting Late

I just finished this one - I only had a pencil drawing when we left the mountains on October 19th.

And I'm also late joining the AEDM crew over at Creative Every Day. Thanks to Linda at Vulture Peak Muse for enticing me into this with her own contributions.

One evening, coming back from the Black Mountains, we were playing peak-a-boo with the rising full moon. It kept appearing around hills and over edges. That probably put this into my head.

Hi Steve, lovely painting, great colours! Brings back memories when you mention about playing peek-a-boo with the moon :D - (from a fellow AEDM artist- glad you joined!)

hi steve! I was pleasantly surprised to see your contribution this morning! :)

The painting is very enticing, the play between the moon and the mountain....love that juxtaposition and, of course, the color.

okay, I know I say this every time but this really is my favorite. I love the midnight colors!

Hi Steve,
So glad you joined as at AEDM! Your work is wonderful and I especially like today's piece. The shapes, lines, colours... they all work.. plus you're a fellow watercolourist. Yeah! My favorite medium.
Great work.

Hugs, LuLu

Carol - thanks for the compliment and the welcome.

Linda - thanks for inspiring me to try this, even if I'm starting late.

Odd Chick - They're all my favorites, too, until the next one...

Louisa - Glad to know another watercolor lover - like Odd Chick and Linda, above...

DCap - thanks - and thanks for the comments on some earlier posts, as well. I've been over to your blog some recently, as well, but usually too late to be lucid enough to comment...

Leah - Thanks so much for sponsoring/hosting this event. I love your work and your blog. I admire people who can get their emotions and spiritual state out on the page, in whatever medium - like your paintings.

lollipop trees?

Those colors are so right for me right now.

Those are among my favorite colors. I love it, Steve, thanks for sharing your talent with us.

I'll have to return to creative every day - I enjoyed my last visit.

I hope you and your family are well.

Hugs

P.S. I haven't forgoten about your comments on Andy Warhol. I'm not a huge fan myself but I do get a kick out of him as a personality and I do see value in his work; especially the lesser known stuff like the series of cats. I kinda dig those.

I'm going to do a post on him eventually and I'll alert you to it.

DCup - Yup, lollipop trees. I love them. And I think I know what you mean about the colors. It doesn't seem like an orange time.

Pagan - The family is over various colds we've passed around, but otherwise we're all OK, thanks. And thanks for the hugs. We had a really good day trip today to Greensboro NC, to the science museum, a good Italian dinner, and a huge used book and CD store... Perfect day for us. I took the day off. And I'm looking forward to getting a different perspective on Warhol when you write about him.
